Frontier Co-op bulk organic dried elderberries are attractive dark purple berries grown in their native Bulgaria. These appealing dark berries are part of the honeysuckle family and are commonly used as a wellness tea or as an ingredient in culinary dishes. Elderberries are traditionally used to support a healthy immune system.

Dried elderberries deliver flexible options for many culinary needs and the flavor of elderberry develops most when mixed in foods or drinks. They are used in sweet syrups and desserts, and they provide a pleasant, fruity aroma. Elderberries are also perfect to be paired with other fruits, as their earthy undertones are emphasized when used in jams and jellies. This dark, purple berry also complements teas and warming winter cordials.

Frontier Co-op has been a member-owned cooperative supporting natural living since 1976 — owned by stores and other organizations that buy and sell our products. We feel the insights and values we gain from this special relationship with our owners are at the heart of our success.

In most ways, cooperatives are like other businesses. Their facilities and equipment are much like those of their competitors and, to be successful, the businesses must be run well. Co-ops are even incorporated in most cases, filing papers with the state as a specially structured corporation. There are bylaws and other necessary legal papers. There is a board of directors that sets policy and oversees the management that runs the day-to-day operations.

Now more than 40,000-member owners strong, we’re dedicated to sourcing the highest quality spices, herbs and botanical products through our Frontier Co-op, Simply Organic® and Aura Cacia® brands — all while creating life-changing opportunities for our growers, employees and their families. We’re driven by a simple purpose: to do good by our people and planet. And to create a stronger company built on a commitment to quality and sustainability.

Each year, Frontier Co-op gives back 4% of its pre-tax profits to causes and organizations around the world that inspire wellness in communities where our products are produced. 1970-79 Begin selling herbs and spices to local co-ops as a two-person operation in a small riverside cabin.
