Meet the Musicians

We're pleased to welcome these musicians on Saturday, November 4, 2023 to Dogpatch Unplugged

River Glen
River Glen

River’s songwriting strikes a delicate balance of pop-appeal and lyrical substance. Always with tasty grooves and clever rhymes. River's original music playfully blends elements of folk, pop, and rock. Every performance is an opportunity to showcase flashy musicianship alongside powerhouse vocals.

In 2017, River was named Fellow by the Iowa Arts Council. While serving in this honorary position, River began work on “As Above, So Below”, an album of original music featuring over one hundred and fifty singers/musicians, almost entirely from his home state of Iowa. “As Above, So Below” was released on May 1st, 2023.

Joel Sires

Joel Sires never gives up, even when he probably should. A goofy, good natured blockhead, Sires is equivalent to Charlie Brown, had he played guitar instead of baseball. Putting his own twist on the tried and true folk formula and emerging a delightful and engaging left of center singer songwriter.

Having performed on renowned stages coast to coast including SXSW in Austin, Texas, and the iconic CBGBs in New York, Sires has established himself as a commanding live performer, connecting with audiences through heartfelt, funny and funky performances.

Over the years he has garnered attention from publications such as Paste and Spin Magazine. Combining elements of nostalgia with a touch of humor, his songs tug at the heartstrings while simultaneously shooting the listener a playful wink.

Her recent albums include her solo project “Love is a Flood,” “Meadowlark” with Abbie & the Sawyers and a debut full-length from the female folk trio The Night Lights.

Ryne Doughty

Music from the Heartland. Songs from the heart. Ryne Doughty is a Folk/Americana singer-songwriter out of Des Moines, IA, whose music is deeply rooted in real life stories of love, loss, work, and play. His stripped down, earthy sound is directly influenced by the small, rural town where he was born and raised. The hard-working, simple living, and friendly way of life of the Midwest shines through his music that is understated yet complex and rich with beauty and realness
