Salad Subscription - 2023

The DUG Salad Subscription is a delicious way to eat salads with fresh, locally grown, seasonal, and nutrient-dense salad greens in a convenient manner. You purchase your share ahead of time and pick up your items each Wednesday.

Each subscription provides 8 oz of fresh greens for salad each week.  This size is ideal for you if you like to pack a salad for lunch or eat a salad with dinner, but also prefer to dine out a few nights a week.

Our Greens Share is a modified CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).  CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and is a way for our customers to experience many benefits from our farm.  You will get access to high-quality and FRESH greens that have a much longer shelf life than greens from a grocery chain.  You also get a direct connection to your growers.  I send out a weekly "behind the scenes" email and you can see us during pick-up and talk to us about the products.  Lastly, CSA members pay for their share ahead of time which helps to cash flow farmers during the off-season.  This income helps to pay for seeds, labor, soil amendments, and more to keep the farm running!

We offer two subscription sessions:

  • Spring Session:  May 17th through August 2nd
  • Fall Session:  August 30th through November 15th

You pick up your items each Wednesday at the DUG FarmStand from 10 am - 4 pm. If you cannot make it on a Wednesday you can also get your share on Saturday from 10 am-4 pm.

Each week you will get 8 oz of fresh, organically grown salad greens.  

We grow the best available greens each week from our crops of Spring Mix, Spicy Mix, Autumn Blend, Spinach, Lettuce varieties, Head Lettuce, Arugula, Mustard Greens, Baby Kale, and more!

Throughout your 12-week session, you will also get 3 bottles of DUG salad dressings.  These dressings will help compliment your greens to enhance the flavor AND keep your salads healthy.  Our dressings are made with avocado oil, do not contain dairy, no artificial sugars, and are gluten-free.

      We are an urban farm located in Des Moines, Iowa known for our organically grown salad greens as well as other seasonal crops. We have evolved into a destination in Des Moines to support local growers, makers, and producers.

      In each weekly pickup you receive:

      Greens: 8 oz of fresh , organically grown salad greens. We curate the best available greens each week from our cros of Spring Mix, Spicy Mix, Autumn Blend, Spinach, Lettuce varieties, Head Lettuce, Arugula, Mustard Greens, Baby Kale, Large Leaf Kale & Swiss Chard.
      Dressings or Herb Salts:  On alternating weeks your package will include either:

      one seasonal, small-batch healthy salad dressing or;

      a batch of herb salts curated in our kitchen. These seasonings are made with organic herbs and can help enhancer flavors in salads but also be used throughout your kitchen.

      8 oz of fresh, organically grown, salad greens

      1 bottle of Salad Dressing OR 1 jar of Herb Salts (alternating each week)

      6 bottles of salad dressing throughout the 12-week session. Every other week, you will get a fresh batch of salad dressing curated in our kitchen. These dressings are made in small batches and are made with clean, healthy ingredients.

      6 jars of herb salts throughout the 12-week session. Every other week (on the week you do not get a dressing), you will get a batch of herb salts curated in our kitchen. These seasonings are made with organic herbs and can help enhancer flavors in salads but also be used throughout your kitchen.

      Bonus - Each Salad Subscriber will receive a reusable DUG shopping bag

      You pick up your items each Wednesday at the DUG FarmStand (5085 Meredith Drive in Des Moines) on from 10am - 6pm. If you cannot make it on a Wednesday just let us know and we will attempt to work out an acceptable time to pick up your goodies.
